This video compares almost every feature of the new Honda Civic Type R FL5 vs the Civic Type R FK8. Which one is the better car? The Power, Track cooling, Styling, wheels, aero,
You can get a 2020 with 50k miles $40k right now. 2018 with 55k miles for $39k. I got mine for 43k and it was a 2017 with 8.5k miles. But my 15k trade in made the difference dramatically. Payments are cheaper then the new si. Around here, it's at $40k for a 2018, around 20k miles, $51k for a 2021, 10k miles or so. The newest Honda Civic Type R has arrived – in fact, this prototype is the first model in the Southern Hemisphere. The FK8 offered a meatier mid-range than the 2015 car, torque vectoring to Negligible difference plus the FL5 makes more torque everywhere. Certainly not enough of a disadvantage to get pulled by multiple car lengths. I still contend that the blue FK8 TH had is quicker than your average stock FK8 for whatever reason. Its unexplainable how that happened. But its funny
The track has many considerations that factor heavily. In the same Throttle House episode where the FK8 beat the FL5 in a roll race, the FL5 beat the FK8 on the track. And the FL5 beat the FK8 LE at Suzuka. If you look at the finish line video frame, the FK8 isn't walking the FL5 by much, not by a car length.
FL5 smokes FK8 from a dig. FK8 smokes FL5 from a roll (like 4x, with James and Thomas each driving both cars) FL5 smokes FK8 on the hot lap. The FL5 did better on the track, which is a plus, but it got walked in a straight line from a roll by the FK8. Considering how the Type R is going to get used by 99% of drivers, that doesn't sound fabulous. J3ToT.
