The 1290 KTM has noticeably more power everywhere, feels lighter and handles better. Engine is not as smooth (obviously) As for reliability my mates tiger had new ecu, new cylinder head and new final drive before it reached 5000 miles, another mates 675 threw a valve down the bore at 20,000 miles. My 1190 has done 18000 miles without any problems.
